Talk about the most incredible silent treatment there ever was!
Otou Yumi, a sulking husband in Japan, has been reveling in this satisfaction for about two decades now. Every time his wife, Katayama, tried to make conversation, he would reply with a nod or a grunt.
Otou shares the home with Katayama and their three children in Nara, southern Japan.
Despite the absence of conversation, the couple has three children. The children couldn’t help but notice their father's odd behavior. Eventually, their 18-year-old son Yoshiki wrote to a TV show, asking for help. The TV show set up a date for the couple.
The parents went on the date in a park as their emotional children watched.
“You were so concerned about the kids,” Otou said to his wife. “Up until now, you have endured a lot of hardship. I want you to know I’m grateful for everything.
Otou also explained his prolonged silence. He had been jealous of his wife’s love, which seemed to be reserved for their children only.
“I was kind of... jealous. I was sulking about it.”
The show eventually managed to get the two talking.
